This is why I get hired by so many artists and bands: to help them create moments in their show so they can connect emotionally with their audience.
If you could take a cord and hardwire it to yourself, then wire that cord into the whole audience so they feel the same thing you do about your songs, you’d sell out your entire stock of CDs the next time you played. You’d sell out because those emotions YOU feel would get translated directly to the people in your audience.
The problem is we’re not hardwired. We live in a wireless society, and sometimes the wireless connection doesn’t work. (That happened the other day with my computer, as a matter of fact!)
So how do we make the “wireless” connection? We’ve got to create moments out of our songs, not just sing them or play them. They can’t be just “songs,” but rather possible “moments” for our audience. You need to find out what there is inside your song that creates a moment.
And each of the moments you share with your audience needs to be different. Just as a meal has different items to eat, your show needs to have different moments. And each of those moments needs to come at the right time. (Just like dessert comes AFTER the main course, and drinks and appetizers come BEFORE it!)
Every moment needs to be a great part of a great meal for your audience.
We’ve got the opportunity for you to learn how to pick and create the moments for your Opening and Closing Moments in our next Webinar… Read more – Backstage Pass required…
