Burton Cummings, Harvey Goldsmith, Slash and Tom Jackson at Canadian Music Week

This year’s Canadian Music Week will be held March 21-25 in Toronto. Highlights of the event will include renowned rock impressario Harvey Goldsmith as keynote speaker, and much, much more!

On Thursday, March 22, delegates of Slacker Canadian Music Week 2012 will have a rare opportunity to look behind the scenes into the life and career of Burton Cummings as he speaks in an exclusive one-on-one.

With a career spanning more than 40 years, Cummings has cemented his place in Canadian music history as both a solo artist and as the celebrated lead singer and co-writer for The Guess Who.

Friday, March 23, platinum-selling Slash will be interviewed. Listen in as he address the virtues of touring, the impact of live performance and fan engagement, recounts some of his most memorable moments from the road, and reveals the details of his sophomore solo album set to release in May 2012.

Also on Friday, March 23, Tom Jackson – master of the artist makeover – will create his “magic” with artist Lori Nuic. Tom’s Live Music Method is an Extreme Makeover approach to your live performance that encourages your creative soul to emerge, connecting you to your audience.

And on Saturday, March 24, join host Paul Williams, along with 2012 Grammy Award winner Dan Wilson, two time Grammy Award winner Don Schlitz and 5 time Juno Award winner Alan Frew, and the writer two of Whitney Houston’s biggest hits, George Merrill, in a Kings of Songwriting conversation to remember.

  1. Hey Tom, I just wanted to let you know how effective your conference was. After watching you go to work on stage I ran out to my band practice and tweaked our live performance based on what you taught. The next night we performed for CMW and blew the crowd away with our newly choreographed, and cleaver set. Thank you so much, you are great at what you do.
