David Archuleta made an unannounced visit to a ChildFund program gathering in the Philippines recently. As the children were preparing a performance for the ChildFund Philippines National Director, Katherine Manik, David appeared for a surprise visit.
David joined the director and other children to watch a 10-minute skit performed by ChildFund Philippines’ program’s children. David enjoyed the skit that the children helped create, which displayed different faces that poverty and disadvantage assume in their region.
In turn he performed for the children and visited with them afterwards. The sponsored children told David “Please help us share the privilege of sponsorship with others, by inviting more people to sponsor [children].”
We commend David for teaming up with ChildFund in winter 2011, and for his work in helping numerous children obtain sponsors!
ChildFund International works in 31 countries, assisting approximately 13.5 million children and their family members, regardless of race, creed or gender. Their distinctive approach focuses on working with children throughout their journey from birth to young adulthood, as well as with families, local organizations and communities globally to create the environments children need to thrive.
