The Band Perry Wins Big at CMA Awards

Congratulations to The Band Perry on winning New Artist of the Year and Single of the Year for “If I Die Young,” and to Kimberly Perry on receiving Song of the Year for that tune as well, at the annual Country Music Association (CMA) Awards show in Nashville last night!

“If I Die Young” recently topped Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart nearly a year after hitting the top spot on Hot Country Songs, showing it to be a song that makes a strong emotional connection with many people.

The Tennessee band, made up of brothers Reid and Neil Perry and sister Kimberly, released their debut album in 2010, and have been running strong ever since. Tom Jackson looks forward to being a part of their team for many years to come!

  1. I stay out of Nashville when all of those crazy events (for example: awards shows = huge crowds) are going on in the big ol Music City but I was watching the CMA awards show at home on tv. Since I learned about The Band Perry and their affiliation with TJP while reading a “Backstage Pass” article it was really good to finally see a performance by them and hear their music for the first time. Loving what Tom Jackson does, I was keeping an open mind and was not disappointed by their “live” performance. I was hoping to hear them mention Tom Jackson in one of their acceptance speeches. Maybe next time Mr. J. Please tell The Band Perry congratulations from one of your bootcampers and next time it’d sure be nice if they mentioned your name. You deserve an honorable mention!
