4 Ways to Move: Get Comfortable With It
I’ve taught this for years – and yet I still find many artists either don’t understand or they don’t believe it. Or maybe they’re confused about the “why” and “how” of the whole thing.
It’s a simple enough concept: you need to move onstage. Remember how important the visual is for your audience? It’s 55% of what they are “hearing” from you!
You need to move with purpose. You need to move in keeping with the integrity of the song. You need to move at the right time (so it doesn’t look canned). Some movement is more effective than others. You can’t move all the time (that’s as much Chinese water torture as never moving).
OK… so maybe it’s not quite so simple. The teaching in my Live Music Method book goes into a lot of detail about all of the above pieces of the puzzle.
