Songwriting: A Career Cornerstone
I’m guessing you want to be able to make a living doing music. Am I right?
I’ve had the privilege of working with 100s of artists on their shows over the years, and after a while I noticed certain patterns in the way people thought that seemed to lead to success and longevity.
On the other hand, I also saw thought patterns in those that never reached success in the music industry, or whose success was short lived. I believe these thought patterns are driven by our society and the need for instant success, or the desire to be “famous.”
It’s the lottery mentality. We are looking for the huge hit that will earn us millions and make us household names. We often forfeit our lives in pursuit of that goal.
Don’t get me wrong — to have a successful career in anything takes sacrifice and hard work! But you don’t have to sell your soul, mortgage your house, give up your family, or become someone you’re not, all for the sake of being “successful.” … Read More, Watch, Comment – Backstage Pass Required
