Free Fall: Winner of Broadjam/Tom Jackson Song Makeover
Carine Ulano-Firestone of the group Free Fall was a top winner in the Broadjam Tom Jackson Song Makeover Contest! I was privileged to be able to watch the video of their performance of “From the Ashes” and give them a written “makeover” to make the most of their song.
My general impressions: great voice (especially when Carine belted it out!) and some nice playing. Of course, it’s a process, so there are always things to improve, too! They’ll need to work on the verbal intro, get rid of the stands, make more of the dynamics, and get comfortable with looking the audience in the eye.
