Boot Stompin’ Roots: The Welch Brothers

The Welch BrothersBrothers David, Nate & Jonny Welch, have been singing together for as long as they can remember!

Growing up in a musical family, and living in both North Carolina and California, the The Welch Brothers developed a taste for both country and rock.

That combination, along with their tight, 3-part harmonies, has created an easy to listen to sound that is undeniably contagious!

Although The Welch Brothers have been singing together since a young age, it wasn’t until 2010 that they began collaborating on their country trio project.

Now living in Nashville, the brothers recently released “Boot Stompin’ Roots – EP,” and are currently writing songs for their next album. This single has caught the attention of both online and terrestrial radio stations in both the US and Canada:

The Welch Brothers have had some great opportunities in their career thus far. They were the opening act for “Rock The South” Festival in Cullman, Alabama; and they’ve shared the stage with the Charlie Daniels Band, Easton Corbin & Little Big Town.

Whether performing with a full band, or playing acoustic sets, having three lead singers definitely helps them stand out as a band — but it poses some challenges as well. We were happy to choose The Welch Brothers as one of the winners in our recent ReverbNation Opportunity, showing them how to make their “multi-lead singer” live show more captivating for their audience. (Check out the winning video critique here — Backstage Pass required…)

As David Welch told us, their set is designed to provoke a variety of emotions and build a connection with the audience. He says, “Each of us take turns leading certain songs, and a few of our songs feature all of our voices…”, but it was an “eye-opening experience being exposed to Tom’s teachings… Amy’s ideas really helped our song and our performance come to life.”

Between the video review, Tom’s book and DVDs, plus following our Backstage blogs, The Welch Brothers feel they are on their way to transforming their live show.

Accomplishments of the Welch Brothers include hitting #59 on the US Country iTunes Chart with their recent EP, and being featured by iTunes in the Country “New & Noteworthy” section for two weeks.
