What’s Your Angle?

I watched a singer on TV the other night. With all the holiday specials, it’s hard to miss a few performances when I’m flipping through the channels. But I have to admit, I don’t purposely look for them – especially because I get so frustrated when I see the lack of understanding when it comes to simple onstage concepts.

This particular singer was young, so I’ll give them a little slack. Although it might be nice if their family, friends, and management would point out that they aren’t very visually interesting!

One of the things they did would have been so simple to correct, it was mind-boggling. It’s a very easy concept to learn, and with a little practice can be added to any performer’s arsenal onstage – the fundamental use of angles.
