Aubrey Logan – Standout Musician & Advocate for those in Need

Someone unfamiliar with breakout artist Aubrey Logan might well ask if she is a singer or a songwriter or an instrumentalist. And the answer would be “yes!”

The daughter of music educators, Aubrey grew up with the music of practically every teachable period: hearing it, learning it, performing it. With an innate vocal gift, a sensitivity for translating thoughts into song, and a wicked way of jamming on a trombone, Aubrey surfaces today as a standout musician already tackling the world of jazz – by almost anyone’s definition, but especially her own.

Here at Tom Jackson Productions, we know her as an artist with our Tour Support program, a passionate advocate for the charity Feed The Children. Where does this passion stem from? “I look back at my own childhood and realize THAT was a crucial time where I could have decided to go after my goals or give up,” recounts Aubrey. “I don’t think I could have embraced the former had my basic needs not been met.”

Aubrey believes all children deserve to have their own basic safety and health needs met so they can truly fulfill their potential. “It’s joyfully satisfying for me to know that I really can help give a child a chance to pursue his or her dreams.”

A graduate of Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music, Aubrey’s acclaim includes winning the popular Audience Choice and the juried First Place Awards in vocal competitions at Switzerland’s famed Montreux Jazz Festival. She is regularly ranked as the #1 Los Angeles jazz artist on the popular online music community ReverbNation.com.

Described as a particularly “accessible” artist whose work is “fresh” and “modern” and “unique,” Aubrey is currently in development on a new album that will feature many of her own songs along with cherished standards. The yet-to-be-titled project is being produced one of Aubrey’s mentors, multi-Grammy-nominated keyboardist and composer Patrice Rushen.

“Jazz is what I perform the most,” Aubrey says. “But ‘jazz’ can suggest different things to different people.” Still, the breadth of abilities inside the musical package known as Aubrey Logan defies pigeonholing. “I guess I perform jazz that leans toward R&B,” she says. “No wait! ‘Jazz Funk’ is part of it. And I’m also comfortable with ‘Jazz Pop.’”

And so, it’s this performance diversity that not only adds interest to this accomplished artist, but it also delights those who listen to her recordings or take in her live performances in venues ranging from intimate clubs to concert halls.
