Free Bootcamp & More: Our June Facebook Prize

If you haven’t been to our Facebook page recently, you should head there now! Each month a new game, competition, or giveaway is announced with some pretty cool prizes.

And this June, we have the best prizes so far:

  • Grand Prize – a free registration to our September 27-28 Tom Jackson 2-day Bootcamp!
  • EVERYONE who enters will receive a coupon for either 10, 20, or 30% off any of our resources or Bootcamps (coupon amounts chosen at random for all entries)

Bootcamp is regularly priced at $399 ($299 early bird special), but you could save that amount and use it toward your travel to Nashville if you win this FREE REGISTRATION! Here’s what you must do to enter:

1) Like our Tom Jackson Onstage Success Facebook page (if you haven’t already).

2) Then come back to this page, and comment below about why you should be the one to win this fantastic prize (why should Tom choose you? what do you want to learn? how do you plan on using the opportunity?).

3) Watch for our Facebook announcement about who wins. (Tip: Facebook shows you what you “like” & comment on, so when you “like” our posts on Facebook, you’ll see us regularly on your own News Feed.)

Because this contest is so important, we’re going to give you 1 whole week to enter. Tom will pick the winning artist next week Wednesday, June 26th. Be sure and enter before then to win either a registration for Bootcamp or a 10, 20, or 30% discount coupon to save on your next order from Onstage Success!

Some rules about entering:

  • Please do NOT enter if you are not able to pay for your travel and come to Bootcamp! We’d hate to give away this awesome prize to someone who doesn’t use the free registration – let the artists who are sure they can come have a chance to win.
  • If you have already registered & paid for Bootcamp, this prize would be considered a registration you can use for a friend to come with you. In other words, we won’t refund your prior registration if you win this free one.
  • You may register if you are part of a band, but the winning prize is only for one person to attend. We would consider giving you a discount off the band/group registration, however, if the entire band would like to attend with you.

  1. I bought your book, love what you teach, and know I need to keep improving if I want to truly impact and chance peoples lives with my live performance.

I’ve toured the country playing at over 200 Colleges. I give back by performing at Childrens Hospitals regularly in Los Angeles. I’m busting my butt to book College gigs and all other gigs for that matter, to pay the rent, but know with applying techniques from your Bootcamp, my performance will transform to the next level.

I’m teaming up with ChildFund thanks to reading your book. Thanks Tom! I also donate a portion of what I make from gigs to Heifer Intl.

I hope you choose me, because I want to learn everything I can at your BootCamp. I want to attend so badly that I’ve worked hard to book a College gig in Nashville for Sept 24th (that’s the closest they could book me to your BootCamp)…plus I’ll have to pay for a flight, hotel, rental car, so I could really use a ticket to get into your BootCamp. Things add up on the road very quickly.

Either way, I’m going to work hard to make this happen (free ticket or not) because I want to keep growing as an Artist. Thanks!

  2. The short version: I’m a 28 year old singer/songwriter whose been performing since the age of four. In 2011 I was reminded of a my mortality as a vocalist when i nearly blew out my vocal chords and realized that I needed to shift gears. Since then I have stopped playing live so I can focus on recovery and songwriting. I have been lucky enough to find an amazing vocal coach whose been able to help my chords but the past year and a half have felt like an artistic cleanse and I would love to purge myself of all prior bad habits, particularly when it comes to live performance. Later this year I’ll be back in the studio and would love to take advantage of this Bootcamp opportunity to build a more solid performance foundation so that upon the album’s completion I will be able to tour and perform more consciously and successfully. And in all honesty if I may speak frankly I’d really love to blow the socks off of everyone at Sunset Sessions next year if I’m able to go.

    Thanks!

  3. I strive and am committed to having an extraordinary impact on the world through music and unabashed self expression. The Tom Jackson Bootcamp equips me with skills and tools that inch me closer to bringing my goals to fruition and being a bold cause in achieving all my objectives. My high level of commitment to improving as an artist and performer, alongside my strong work ethic and desire to grow ultimately set me apart from other candidates. The faculty of Tom Jackson Bootcamp should invest in my growth because of the possibilities that I am committed to unleashing, cultivating and developing.

  4. In 2009 I made the commitment to move to Nashville to improve my music and songwriting skills. I have done that. In the process I renewed my passion to perform (even if I am 67 years old.) Things were going great. I was performing at least twice a week and attending even more events. Then my wife was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease and began a process of rapid deterioration. All my trips, performances, social events, basically everything was cancelled. For the past two years I have been a 24/7 full time caregiver. Basically I only left the house for groceries. It finally got to be too much for me to handle at home as she moved from Stage 2 to Stage 6 (7 Stages) in less than a year. She is now living a more social life in an Assisted Living Facility in Hendersonville. AND I GOT MY LIFE BACK.. I am having a ball reinvigorating my creativity and getting out more but I still lost a lot of ground over the past two years. I am a Vietnam Veteran and I write many Patriotic and Military-Oriented songs and am planning a whole album of my work. When I have performed some of these in the past I got standing ovations as well as grateful tears because I understood what loved ones were feeling. I would love to be a part of a Tom Jackson Onstage Bootcamp so I could learn how to present my unique material in a better way and touch even more hearts and minds. It would be easy for me to come to Nashville. I am already here.

  5. I am definitely in love with what you guys do and would nothing more for my live show than to make actually be there face to face to get some work done. I have been playing in bands since 2008 and since day one I had always wanted to make my live show more than just four/five guys playing songs on a stage. Totally open to changing what I/we do live.

  6. Tom,
I think I should win. I am a dedicated singer songwriter performer. I am always wanting to improve my performances. I would help me better share the music with others.
    Thanks
    Troy

  7. Jennifer Robbins says:

I am a 36 year old performer, worship leader, and vocal coach of 14 years. I bought Tom’s OnStage VHS tapes about 13 years ago and it was something that really molded my view of performing and doing what I do to serve Jesus Christ through my own gifts. I now have several voice students who are passionately pursuing music careers and are ready for this as well! I would LOVE to win this so that I can soak it all in, to come back and teach them deeper and further explode the growth of my own students. There is nothing I love more than performing and leading worship (except God, my husband, and my two kids!) and I LIVE to encourage people in my life both on stage and off. I want to win! Pick me!!!

  8. Amber E. O'Brien says:

Even if I won, I would not be able to afford to fly to Nashville BUT, I still wanted to leave a comment because I have met you at CMS Washington three times and I really appreciate what you do for artists. We chatted at the last CMS about the mission trip to Africa I was about to embark on. IT. CHANGED.MY.LIFE. Now I am singing to support the ministry Orphan Relief and Rescue (www.orphanreliefandrescue.org). Working on my first EP. All for His Glory!
    Congrats to who ever wins!

  9. Even after being together for almost 40 years (and having just gone 5 for 5 at the 2013 Detroit Music Awards), every time we read a Tom Jackson article or re-watch the DVDs we bought the first time we met him, we learn… that we still can learn from this great resource. Tom rocks – and the fact that he’s willing to show us how as well… even sweeter!

  10. Hi Tom,
I am the drummer for Dana Isles and Facedown. We are a Christian Rock Band from South Jersey. We have one released cd of originals with the second coming out this summer. Musically we are blessed. I feel it would be beneficial for me to come to the bootcamp to continue to learn effective ways to spread the gospel through musical presentation. The entire band would like to come but we realize that this giveaway is for one person. We are interested in being the best we can be. We do not want to be boring to watch so we need help with movement on stage and overall just presenting an image. Many of the band members were at the Objective Sessions and we learned a lot from you there, we bought the books and have tried to put things we’ve learned into practice. We are teachable and eager to learn. This is why I need to attend the bootcamp. Thanks for considering us!

  11. Tom’s helpful suggestions and guidence has provided much needed practical advice for me as an artist and more importantly as a human being. it would be great to go deeper and to be able to share it with those I come in contact with. Plus, it’s always nice to visit my friends In Nashville.

  12. I have been told that I am putting the cart before the horse. So I need your bootcamp to get things in order quickly. I started seriously writing music three years ago. First I didn’t know what I was supposed to do with these songs. But I figured pretty quickly that no one would ever hear my message if I did not perform them myself. So… I found a recording studio and started recording demos. Then I begged the engineer to help me produce the music. I eventually had some songs I thought were pretty good, so I applied to play at a large music festival. Wah-lah… I was accepted to play, and then I had to put a band together (again the backwards way of doing things). With that success under my belt I headed to Nashville to put a better quality album together and now, with little experience I am getting close to setting up a nice show, but WAIT! I haven’t had any stage training! I have been working at becoming more comfortable in front of a crowd (and I actually am getting comfortable), but I know my show stinks…. I need a makeover… I have several special moments just waiting to appear in my show…. and Tom, I can see you are the guy for me. So please give me the grand prize, so I can get straightened out right quick.

  13. I would love to have this opportunity to come learn from the best. I am very open to suggestions and work hard to apply whatever is given to me. I am a hard and dedicated worker who loves music. I would like to make performing my career. For me to attend Tom Jackson’s Bootcamp would allow me to better connect with my fans and give them the performance they deserve!

    Thank You!

I should win this for my band Transparent. We are full believers in Tom’s methods and have already seen real results in merchandise sales, fan engagement, over all satisfaction in our own show enjoyment and feeling like we are fulfilling what we are called to do. Someone should be taping our story because we are on our way…see you in September.

  15. Hello Tom and crew,

I was just reading ” A Career in Music the other 12 Step Program” by Bob D’eith and he mentions you in his book so it sparked me to go back to your facebook page and saw this contest!

We met in Moncton NB where you did some private critiques of a couple bands/musicians and then again in Charlottetown PEI (Canada) a few years ago during the ECMA’s my band took in your workshop and since has followed many of your tips and implemented it into our show. I have since followed your emails and have always wanted to take it to the next step with one of your programs. I wish I could tell you a good reason why I haven’t but mainly focusing on other areas of my life/music.

I have done a good job at branding and fan building online though http://www.reverbnation.com/jaclynreinhart, http://www.facebook.com/jaclynreinhart and other social media platforms. I’m great with my blogging, emails and fan engagement but with promoting the new record and setting up a tour for I need your help for my live shows lack of luster.

I know that this bootcamp could take my show to the next level so that people walk away with the best experience possible and feel like they are reliving my songs with me. Please consider having me as one of your students and kick my musician butt into gear to help me tone up my live show for my fans sake. They deserve it!

    Tom,

Thank you for providing this opportunity. Through your generous sponsorship, for those of us with limited funds, this provides a rare opportunity to to learn first hand what we have been studying in your book. For the past year and a half, I have been working with musicians in Atlanta to help them become more relaxed, more confident, and more effective as they present themselves on stage. I have been watching your backstage videos, the first DVD set, and have thoroughly read and re-read the “Live Music Method” book. The techniques I have learned have made a tremendous difference in the way we present the worship music in our church as well as in my own shows with The-Listening-Wall. However, as great a resource as the book and videos are, there is no substitute for personal interaction in the learning process. I am sure that there are things that I have not completely apprehended through book study alone, and would love the opportunity to participate in a boot camp session. This would make a huge difference in my work with the musician’s presence onstage, the congregation’s participation in our worship services, and would bring a new level of audience engagement at our live shows as I continue to apply and share your techniques.

    Jim

  17. Kristin Hoffman says:

My boyfriend Dylan and I moved to Nashville this last September. We have been given a few of Toms DVDs to borrow, but we would really love to attend live and learn all we can. Unfortunately our income is low lately and I’m gonna have to take off 4-6 weeks here soon for a surgery at Vanderbilt. Which means I won’t be getting paid for that long and we will be scraping by as it is. We just won’t have the funds to pay to come. We’re very eager about learning to improve our live shows and constantly challenge each other to be better. We know an opportunity like this would really push us and help us and we would be very grateful! Thank you for your time and I hope your search goes well. I know there’s a lot of deserving people out there! Thanks for offering a chance to go!

  18. anna zaremba says:

    hey tom,

i guess the main reason, why i should win this contest, is the fact that i’ll probably have the longest way to get to nashville.

and the fact that i missed last years opportunity to perform at the bootcamp.

if i win this contest. i will definitely turn the world upside down, so i can be with you guys at the next bootcamp in september.

    greetings from hamburg, germany

  19. I attended last year and learned so much, but there is so much information that comes at us from Tom and others that I’m sure a 2nd dose of Bootcamp would allow to me to learn so much more. I’d love to get to showcase a song this time around.

  20. I have attended a couple of Tom’s workshops and have his methods in my heart and head. People go to a show to be engaged not to watch someone standing at a mic singing songs. You are the one who controls the room, the stage, and the Audience. Most bands that I have opened for never get that. They say things like “I hope they like me” or “I hope it is a good audience” …. That is your job, not theirs. Tom’s team draws out that blue print you need to be the success you deserve to be. I practice all the time (even at home) with Tom Jackson’s method because I know that the people I am competing against are on the road night after night touring. So when a Band calls me and says “can you open for us tonight ?” my answer is always NO PROBLEM ! And they know that I will give them their money’s worth. I used to think that I could WING IT ! WRONG ! If you are going to be a professional in this business then start thinking like one today, right here, right now !

  21. I play at a small country church in North Carolina. We are changing pastors and interested in trying to attract younger people to attend. I need to learn about making the music program a bigger part of the worship experience. As we grow and add worship team members the experience of bootcamp will help us make the worship services more meaningful for more people. At 56 I may be the oldest person wanting to attend, but what I learn will be shared with others as we grow.

  22. tim madigan says:

i have been jonesin’ to come to one of tom’s bootcamps for years! it would be an amazing experience for me, at the age of 62, to learn from the master of stageing events for the musician. I am confident i would learn a tremendous amount on all facets of live performance and if a 62 year-old can do it, then anyone can 🙂

  23. I have no hope of attending unless I win this since my student loan payments just doubled, taking out my ability to pay for Bootcamp. My aunts are willing to spring for half of the room and travel.
I want to use my music to transform lives for Jesus Christ. I have a message to share and a duty to share it. I want to use the stage to reach those who are lost just as much as I would reach out to brothers and sisters in Christ who are hurting. To do this, I must become better. I have learned a lot by reading your book, and following on Onstage Success through Backstage Pass, but I have reached the limit of what I can learn without further instruction.

  24. I would love to win a bootcamp – I have followed Tom for years, and have imparted his wisdom to everyone who will listen. I am a musician and producer/arranger. I want to learn everything I can from Tom and his crew, and would love to eventually become an affiliate/partner, and teach his methods. I have young artists come into my studio all the time and they are hungry to learn their craft – both recording and live – and I want to help them go to that next level in every area of their artistry.

    Be Blessed!
    Phillip

  25. been playing music my whole life and loving every minute of it. In a new band now and it has become one of the funnest things i have ever done, when we play people love us. however getting large audiences to see us has been an issue, we don’t seem to connect with our audiences as well as we should and thats why we need tom jackson. i believe we can bring alot of happiness to people if we knew how, we can play well but the important stuff is alluding us. give us a chance we’ll make you proud, and most definately make you laugh.

  26. Keturah Brown says:

My name is Keturah and I’m a singer-songwriter here in Middle Tennessee.
This opportunity would mean the world to me. I’ve bought a couple of the dvds and watched all the youtube shorts, and when finaces allowed I had a Backstage pass membership for quite some time. So I’m very enthusiastic about learning stage presence and perfecting my craft and especiallyyyy the way Tom teaches it. And I just know having the opportunity to actually go to the bootcamp & learn these things in person would be pretty invaluable and life/career changing for me.

I am at a point where my live show is the most critical thing to my success. In a town where country is king, making the decision to do a different style of music can makes things a little hard, so I know that I need to in fact be 10x more competitive. I need to be more marketable, so that bookers and managers know that I’m not gamble or a risk to work with. I also need to have a show that stand behind the great records that I make and the sale them to the ones who haven’t heard them yet.

So the opportunity to attend this bootcamp for free would give me tools that would not normally be at my disposal, that I could use to create a better show and a better and more confident artist of myself. So I hope you greatly consider my submission, and even if I’m not a winner I just want to say thank you to Tom Jackson and all the people who work with him on Onstage Success, I’ve really been learning a lot and I’m glad that you guys do what you do. Because music is so much more than singing & instrument lessons, its learning to command the stage!

    – Keturah

  27. Jeffrey B. Scott says:

I would love to come to Bootcamp! It would be my second time, but I still have so much to learn about stage performance and connecting with an audience that it would be great to have a second shot to come learn more about how to do that!
Thanks for the contest – you guys are awesome!

  28. I have just become acquainted with Tom Jackson Productions and all that I have read and heard so far has been so spot on and incredibly helpful.

While I have had good response to my original music and live performance, placing in the Eddie’s Attic Shootout finals in Atlanta as well as The Towne Crier Invitational finals, I know I need to take my work to the next level, to turn the positive response into actually making a living at this. I can see that the work Tom does is the missing link for me and that is why I would love the opportunity to work with Tom in person.

Thank you so much for everything already!!!!

    All the best~
    LuAnn

  29. I think this would be great for my daughter Lexi!blessings, crystal

    • oops…add on. My daughter Lexi is 18 and the Lord has blessed her with an amazing talent. She is a great singer but really she just touches people when she sings. She is going to start college in sept for vocal performance. She has only had a few singing lessons to prepare for college auditions. She wanted to go to Belmont but finaces prevented her….I want her to be able to fulfill God’s purpose and I know this doesnt necessarily include college when it comes to singing or ministry. She is ready to move to the next level but is not sure what that is and as parents we arent sure either. It would be great for her to get an ideat from boot camp. She has a few videos on facebook/ youtube under Lexi leash

  30. I want to learn confidence and how to overcome stage fright!

  31. I’ve been examining your content for years and have attended a mini session in Minneapolis. What I’ve gleaned off the weekly emails, videos and non-backstage pass articles has been invaluable. I’m coming up on my 4th live performance ever, already at a large venue in the Twin Cities with our new band The Mayberry Riot and I can tell you what I’ve learned from On Stage Success has already begun to rocket us to the top. While we’re proud of our music and the last year we’ve put into it, without the stage presence, it would be more than twice as hard to keep people standing there. Because of your information, our last show was riddled with compliments like, “Wow you guys are fun to watch!” and “That song really moved me”. I guarantee it was more than the dynamic sound…it was the wide range of lyrically connected motion that helped draw them in.

With a family, I wouldn’t be in this project without being absolutely sure we were going to make it. I haven’t had a doubt in my mind since we started just over a year ago. Now having our music and much of our performance finely tuned, we just need the rest of that edge to push it over the top. I know that exists in your bootcamp. Again, having a family and other financial obligations makes a full expense trip to Nashville a difficult venture, so winning the registration would mean a great deal to me and is something I wouldn’t miss for the world…and my future.

Thanks again Tom & Sam for the opportunity and AMAZING techniques to make me a success!

  32. Okay Tom! Here is the deal: I’ve posted on some of these about the massive singing/artist development competition I run in New Castle, Pa. We have our finals on July 13th and I would LOVE to win this so we can send this year’s winner to your two day camp! If our show can win this and send our 2013 champion to the camp, we will pick up the tab for their travel and hotel.

The five artists remaining in our competition are all truly amazing people and they are eager to learn. They have spent months working their way through this competition (the auditions were back in March and they had to survive two other elimination shows to get to this point). These are people serious about a career in music and they are all extremely talented. They are also VERY gracious for the help they get.

Believe me when I tell you this…not only will they be extremely grateful for your help, they would also tell everybody they know about what they learned with you. All of them have posted on Facebook about how much they appreciate what our show has done for them over the past few months. There is nobody more deserving.

Any of the five would without doubt take full advantage of your advice and experience and incorporate everything you teach them into their own performance. They are all very open to instruction and they are all willing to try new things on stage to see if it will get the crowd behind them even more. While our program teaches many concepts similar to your own, your experience in the field and attention to detail would be extremely beneficial to any of our five finalists.

Thanks for making this opportunity available!
