Perspective is Everything
I like to read biographies when I vacation or travel. Whether it’s Merle Haggard, Joe DiMaggio, Tom Landry, or Frank Sinatra – each life is completely different. Some were successful, consistent, and honorable. Some were always in trouble.
And the stories are always written differently. Some are written through the person’s own eyes – what they thought and felt. Some are written through the eyes of others.
When I’m reading, I think of my own life. It would be interesting to compare a book about my life from my perspective and then from what others would say.
Perspective is everything! I’m inside my own body and see through my own eyes. I am in touch with my intentions, motives, and feelings; I experience all these things from my own perspective. But when I interact with others or others observe me and my actions, they naturally interpret things from a different perspective.
This is exactly what happens while we are onstage! We stand onstage and experience what is happening from our perspective. This is by far the biggest hurdle to a successful show when I first start working with a singer or band. … Read More, Watch, Comment – Backstage Pass Required
