Our Backstage Spotlight: Adrienne Osborn

Vocalist/performer Adrienne Osborn is a vocalist of varied styles including rock, jazz, soul, and electronica.

Adrienne is also a gifted lyricist and songwriter, as well as a multi-instrumentalist (keys, bass, and percussion).

She writes and records original songs, records vocals for musicians all over the US and Europe, and composes music for a film/TV music library.

She has performed in the US, UK, and Germany with many bands and individuals, from 10-piece cover bands to original funk-rock to Live Band Karaoke to jazz duos and quartets. Adrienne played at the 2007 Telluride Jazz Festival (with Bola Abimbola) and at a 2008 Republican National Convention party in Minneapolis (with Denver’s That 80s Band).

Recently, Adrienne has been working on orchestral electronic pop and jazz with collaborators in Germany and Thailand. And last year she was signed as a composer to Studio 51, which provides music for film and TV.

This very busy artist also released a jazz CD with violinist and mandolin player Pete Hartley in June 2011.The album contains some originals, some standards, and some standards with original lyrics.

So what’s new in Adrienne’s career? Well, her “modern party music” band, Urban Dance Theory, landed a booking agent after their first gig and is now working regularly! As Adrienne says, this band “will make you dance your booty off” – take a look:

Adrienne just returned from five weeks in Europe, where she worked in person with two of her closest collaborators, playing, performing, writing, and recording.

Other new and exciting stuff includes starting to integrate the use of tracks into her performances to perfect the vocal harmonies, which as Adrienne says, “I’m excited about personally (but it may not be exciting news to other people)!”

As if her music isn’t enough, check out this video of Between Us, an original ambient electronica collaboration with composer Panos Kolias, written and recorded earlier this year. All the images in this video are photos Adrienne has taken over the years in Utah and Colorado:

In addition to being one of our Backstage artists, Adrienne attended last year’s fall Bootcamp and is headed to Nashville again in September for another Bootcamp! She is anxious to learn even more about Tom’s Live Music Method and how it applies to all genres, as she loves to help improve the music careers of people around her.

  1. Lauren Bateman says:

Hey Adrienne, kick but girl. Was excited to see you face pop up. Between Us is awesome. Very cool vocals on that.

  2. Sounds cool. I might leave out the bit about karaoke however in a Bio. I think when most people read it it might not add to the overall impression you’re going for.
