The Spotlights on: The Fab Four

Today we shine the Spotlight on Ron McNeil and his group The Fab Four. Ron is one of our Backstage artists that knows how to put the principles Tom Jackson teaches to work on his music career.

We want to share with you what Ron does and how he feels Tom’s Live Music Method concepts apply to every genre, even one as unique as his!

In 1997, Ron (John Lennon impersonator and President of The Fab Four Corp) founded The Fab Four, a California-based tribute band paying homage to The Beatles.

The group began performing Beatles music throughout Southern California, and they’ve played together for the past 12 years, covering nearly the entire Beatles songbook, plus solo material as well.

In 2005, The Fab Four signed a contract in Las Vegas to perform a full stage show six nights a week. It was then decided a second set of musicians would be brought in to form another cast that could be in Vegas or rotated on the road when needed. This second, or, Vegas cast was given the name Fab Four Mania, and has been performing regularly in Sin City for the past four years.

The Fab Four has brought the music of The Beatles to many places including Japan, Malaysia, France, Hong Kong, The United Kingdom, Germany, Mexico and Brazil. And the group is soon to be featured on their own PBS special!

According to Ron, he started implementing Tom’s concepts into their show from the beginning. He was especially glad when he met a guy named David Brighton who eventually became their “George Harrison.” David turned the Fab Four onto Tom’s teaching videos.

Not long ago, Ron told us why he likes Tom’s Music Makeover videos so much: “Every time Tom starts working with a new act, and you see their beginning, I’m thinking, ‘Oh no, this act just isn’t very good. Poor Tom, nothing is gonna help these guys.’ And then, like magic, Tom starts putting the pieces together, and by the end, it’s like…YES!!! I’D TOTALLY BUY THAT! And I mean with every genre of music. It’s so cool to see how the concepts continue to work across the board, even with the diversity of each artist.”

Once Ron got Backstage, he commented on the videos there as well: “I literally cannot get enough of those REHEARSAL ROOM videos. Tom may just be a plumber, but I really enjoy watching him unclog those drains!”

Ron and the Fab Four will be having Tom come in and work with them on their show this summer. They recognize the value of the live show and connecting with their audience. We hope YOU will connect with Ron and The Fab Four in our Backstage area, too!
