Take Them By Storm

So where do YOU go when tornado sirens go off? I had just finished teaching at the CIA Summit in Nashville a week ago when storms came through and forced us out of the building. So my family and I hid in a school loading deck under an overhang. Smart? We don’t know – but that’s where we went!

The rest of my Live Music Producing has been eventful, too, but in a different way. It’s been great working with Taylor Swift on her show. If you have a chance to catch her live, I highly recommend it. We’ve worked out some cool moments in her show, and she will take her audience by storm!

Gospel Music Week in Nashville is coming soon. Check my Events page for where I’ll be teaching. One of the events is free. Did you catch that? FREE! The Objective is spearheaded by a good friend of mine, Ted Bruun. As I said, this all day workshop event is free, and a great way for Christian/Gospel artists to get some help for your show at no cost. Here’s how Ted explains what this is:

Ted Bruun, The Objective

Ted Bruun, The Objective

“The Objective is a movement of those in the Industry or the Art of Music who have decided that they will not settle for using their gifts, their skills, their abilities for anything less than the Cause and Kingdom of Jesus Christ. The Objective is a Movement of those who understand that the Gospel is a Message, not a market. The Objective is a movement of Artists, Songwriters, Producers, Media, and other Music Industry Personnel who have determined to be deliberately ‘mission minded’ with their lives, their talents, and their time.”

The Objective Movement is hosting a workshop (during GMA Music Week). It’s for you if you’d like to learn how to use the internet to effectively expand your ministry, how to navigate the current economy without losing or compromising focus, how to work with the current system of venues, festivals, and promoters to accomplish the Objective you have been called to, how to effectively communicate with your audience and not just perform, and more.

The Objective workshop will be followed by performances from top up and coming recording artists in a showcase event.

All these activities begin at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, at Rocketown, 401 6th Avenue South, Nashville, TN, with the showcase running from 5:30 p.m. to midnight. In order to reserve your spot or to get more information, RSVP to XTAdmin@GMail.Com.

So the question is this: do you want to “take them by storm?” Would you like to impact people every time you get onstage? If I were you, I’d take advantage of this offer! I’ll be teaching a class, moderating several great panel discussions, and (during the showcase) you can watch me take a band through a live mini-makeover.

Sure hope to see you there!
