Getting Better Gigs!
I’ve been asked recently, by a singer songwriter; “How do I get better gigs? I’ve been playing in bars where no one is listening!”
This is a common problem I hear over and over again. It’s really quite a dilemma and there are numerous suggestions and possibilities, some dependent on where you live!
Of course, the main thing you have to tackle and perfect is your live show! You have to connect with your audience and make your show memorable, using the performance techniques outlined in my Live Music Method Book and DVDs. Once you have a great show, new doors will open for you! Please, please, please don’t overlook this step and assume you have a great show just because a few people say you do! I’m constantly asked to watch frustrated artists’ shows. They think they “rock”, but the truth is, I wouldn’t recommend them to a promoter. Most are average at best. I’m just saying, take the time to WORK on your show!
