Tom Jackson Here

Play for Something Real

Tom Jackson here. Hope all is well!

Last week, some of you may have seen that one of the artists I’ve worked with debuted at #1 on Billboard.

As I reflected on it, I realized that 3 artists I’ve worked with have topped the Billboard charts this year. That number doesn’t include artists I’ve worked with topping CCM, hip-hop, and radio charts.

I don’t want to sound ungrateful, because I think it’s an awesome accomplishment, so without diminishing those accomplishments, I want to honestly tell you what numbers excite me.

I am thrilled when an indie artists texts me and says “I got 7 kids sponsored tonight”, a conference texts me saying “we got 54 sponsors”, or when I get reports from Winter Jam that 400 kids have been sponsored at one event!

I care so much about these kind of numbers because I know that people are more important than record sales, and saving a child’s life matters more to me than a sold out concert!

An added bonus is these sponsorships don’t simply equate to one child receiving help. For every child that gets sponsored, 5 people in the community receive help because everyone around the child benefits from clean drinking water, better schools, healthy livestock, etc.

I have dedicated my life to helping artists get better on stage and develop their career in music.  I have traveled the world, written books, produced DVDs, and written countless blogs and articles to reach as many artists as possible with the methods I feel can help improve their art and career.

Eventually I realized there had to be some connection between my God given talents to help artists be better performers and my desire to help the least of these around the world. The connection I came up with is “Live Music Gives”.

Live Music Gives is simply a way for me to connect artists with charities that I know need help raising awareness and these charities want to financially help artists stay on the road to get the word out.

If you are a touring artist, I’d love to help you become a success in the music industry, but I’d also love to help you become a success in life by showing you how you can use your talents and platform to change the life of someone else!
