Many artists — whether singer, songwriter, band, instrumentalist — have a product of some kind to sell to fans.
Most have a CD. Or (in this day and age) at least some downloads available online. Maybe an EP.
Even some of the youngest artists I work with have a few tracks recorded and available for people who might want to buy. A lot of bands have T-shirts, posters, stickers, and so on, typically with the band name or a logo.
But there really is a much more important product most artists don’t even think of. The expense in time, energy & money is similar to a recording, but gives artists a much higher profit margin than the recording! Can you guess the product? That’s right… it’s your live show.
You know your record is a product — but so is your live show! And you will be judged by this product more than any other product you have. It helps people remember you and can even increase your fan base. Plus, if it’s a quality product, it will get you more bookings, and maybe even interest from industry and labels.
Making a great live show product takes time and money. But I can count on one hand the people who take the time or have anything in their budget to develop their live show properly. If they do anything, they go into a rehearsal room for 3 or 4 days, practice the songs in a set, and call that a show.
They wouldn’t do such a haphazard job on their studio recordings — but they don’t think twice about preparing their own live show with no help from a professional. They think that because they write songs, play and sing them well, have a tight band and energy onstage, etc. that they automatically have a great show.
Producing a great show needs to be a priority, and you need to set aside time and money to do it the right way.
I’d like to teach you how to do it the right way. But you need to take it seriously, investing yourself in the process of learning how to create a great live show product. And how much you invest (in time, energy, and money) will determine what kind of product you end up with.

Hi Tom and team . We just had our first show after meeting you at CMS Northeast and signing up at onstage success . The show was part of a battle of the bands at a music club , and were the only Christian band there . We used some of the techniques you taught with Blues Cousel , and some other ones we got off of your site . It was great ! We had moments , we had impact , we had unbelievers singing along with GOD honoring and inspired music ! Thank you all very much ! It’s one thing to listen to you and see all the common sense teaching and instruction you give and realize I’ve seen that a hundred times before at concerts without even realizing it .
