Olympic Stage, Your Stage – Part 3

Guitar player having funIt’s amazing how many concepts you can learn about being onstage by watching the Winter Olympics in Sochi!

Today’s tip comes from American Sage Kotsenburg, gold medal winner in men’s slopestyle snowboarding. He used the stage he was on to be spontaneous with what he was doing, and it paid off big time.

Spontaneity:

In an interview, he talked about why he had tried something he’d never done before. He’d had the idea a few days before to do this trick, and he knew where he might use it in his run. And the reason he tried it was because he was in a groove and wanted to be creative.

He had a plan and built a spot for spontaneity into that plan.

The concept for today: Do YOU have a plan for spontaneity in your show, and are YOU spontaneous?

If you are a Backstage Pass member, you can see more on the idea of planned spontaneity in Amy Wolter’s blog on “Don’t Miss the Moment” – Backstage Pass required…
