How About a Great Rehearsal?
We all know what a great show looks like. But what does a great rehearsal look like?
It isn’t just running through all the songs, putting them in some kind of order, and then going out to do your show!
The rehearsal is the best place for spontaneity to happen, believe it or not. Most artists don’t know this, but it’s extremely important to understand.
If you’ve heard anything I’ve ever said, you know that audiences come to your live show for 3 reasons: 1) they want to be captured and engaged, 2) they want to experience moments, 3) they would like their lives to be changed in some way.
That’s the grid you need to run your show through. So your rehearsals should be about accomplishing those three things.
Watch this video explaining a little more about a great rehearsal…
Now I know I’ve just given you the “why” and only a little bit of the “how” to rehearse. That’s because the “how” is a long explanation (actually a full chapter and more in my book!) – plus, it’s easier for you to see it than it is for you to read it.
Remember that having a great rehearsal is what leads to having a great show!
