It’s one thing to win an award for performing 1 of your songs – and another thing to win 3 significant awards, each using a different song! But that’s exactly what singer/songwriter Anthony Mossburg has done over the last year.
Recently, Anthony was chosen to perform at AtlantaFest 2012, a huge Christian music festival in Georgia. He was the only solo artist to win one of the 3 days’ talent search competitions, and performed his song “The Rambler” later on the main stage, opening for Toby Mac, Red, KJ-52 and other major artists.
Only 6 weeks before his AtlantaFest win, Anthony received Bootcamp Top Performer status at a Tom Jackson Road Show Bootcamp in Nashville. His award was a demo song production session with Grammy and Dove Award-winning producer Mark Heimermann (dc Talk, Michael W. Smith, Jaci Velasquez). Watch this video of his Bootcamp showcase of the song “Love Conquers All”:
When asked about his Tom Jackson Bootcamp experience, Anthony remarked, “Tom’s teachings have transformed my live show into moments and a true performance. The first show after working with [Tom’s team], I noticed a world of difference with people’s reactions and sales. It also got me excited about my music again.” (Check out the entire critique review of Anthony’s song at Bootcamp here – Backstage Pass required…)
Last summer, Anthony was first place winner at the Indie Ignite song testing panel competition in Nashville. His song, “Break My Heart,” came in first place:

In addition to these 3 top awards, Anthony also received two of the 12 slots in a competition for the All About Worship Songwriter’s Cafe CD.
His own CDs include fresh, edgy sounds true to Anthony’s heart as an artist and as a person. He’s opened for Aaron Shust, Shawn McDonald, Rush of Fools, Affix, and Our Heart’s Hero. He has traveled with Billy Wayne Arrington, played in numerous churches, festivals, conferences, and for other special ministry groups. Anthony has had live interviews with KBCU 88.1, WEMM 107.9, WZAQ 92.3 and WPJY – Walk FM 88.7.
Anthony’s life in itself is miraculous, as he was actually scheduled to be aborted until the very day the procedure was to take place. But as Anthony says, thankfully his heavenly father had other plans. Anthony never thought much about God until he met a youth pastor in college. When he learned about Jesus and what He had done on the cross for him, he chose to change his lifestyle, accept the grace offered to him, and became a Christian. Now his life has become an adventure of unearthing truth, revealing personal struggles, celebrating successes, and helping others do the same. He shares his God-given gifts by writing moving lyrics which people can really relate to, creating melodies from vibrant to gorgeous which stick with you long after the songs are over, and with his deep, rich, unforgettable voice.
He is proud to have been accepted as a Holt International artist and is actively promoting the sponsorship of orphans waiting for adoption or family preservation assistance in foreign countries.
