Canadian pop/rock artist Samantha Testa is a young emerging talent who knows how to get things done! Her recent trip to Sunset Boulevard Studios in Nashville to work with award winning Producer/Engineer Steve Dady shows it’s true.
With experience performing in Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa, performing at events like the Kitchener Bluesfest, the Martin Luther King 2010 Celebration, and singing the National Anthem for the Canadian Women’s National Hockey team, Samantha knew her greatest need was to “up” her performance level.
From the beginning, Samantha knew she wanted to make music her career. So she signed up for a Tom Jackson Bootcamp. As Samantha said, “I wanted to understand what I needed to do to fill in the blanks in my performances.”
At Bootcamp, Samantha auditioned in front of Tom and a panel of industry judges, and was awarded a Top Performer title! Her award consisted of a 90-minute recording session with four of Nashville’s top studio rhythm players and Steve Dady (Keith Urban, George Strait, Michael Tait, Jaci Valesquez) in his state of the art studio. (For more information about current Bootcamp and Top Performer awards, click here…)
Before Samantha went into the studio to record, she attended an Onstage Success Intensive Workshop and got some 1-on-1 help with her show from Tom Jackson Productions.
Her manager (and father), Anthony Testa, wrote to tell us “Samantha had a real breakthrough at the Intensive Workshop – She sees real value and is committed to doing it all… we will be back!”
And back they were! Into the studio to cut this single:

Samantha says her work with Tom is “probably the most beneficial thing I have ever done up to this point in my music career.”
Watch for videos of her live music makeovers, her time at Bootcamp and the Intensive Workshop, and footage of her in the recording studio, all coming soon to our Backstage area!
What’s next for Samantha? Well, Children’s Wish Foundation in Ottawa has chosen Samantha as their young ambassador. And she’s already shared the stage with great performers such as Kathy Grant (Canada’s first lady of gospel), Alisha Nauth (Canadian Idol top10 finalist), and Cheryl Lescom (Canada’s Blues Queen).
The possibilities are endless!
