The Band Perry claimed the award for New Artist of the Year at the Academy of Country Music (ACM) awards Sunday night, just minutes after performing their hit song “If I Die Young.” Kudos to TBP on obtaining this fan-voted honor!
The family group that consists of two brothers and one sister also scooped the award for New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year before the live awards ceremony began.
Singer Kimberly Perry was overjoyed with the band’s success, saying, “We believe that country music is the people’s music. And it is our greatest desire to be their band.”
The band released their self-titled album on October 20, 2010, and it has since spawned the hit singles “Hip To My Heart,” “You Lie,” and the platinum single “If I Die Young.”
Congratulations to The Band Perry on these great honors from both fans and the music industry!
