I Admit It – I Have A Communication Problem!
Have you ever said something that was intended one way, but taken another way? Or explained something very clear to you, yet the person you were speaking to didn’t “get it?”
It’s extremely frustrating or maddening when that happens to me with my wife, kids, friends – for me and for them. The irony: sometimes I actually understand how to communicate from a stage better than I do in real life. Sad.
In the past I have had to go to a counselor to help me become a better communicator. Someone else had to point out I had the issue. I didn’t think that I – me – MOI! – had a problem. Heck, I knew what I was saying. They had the problem! They just didn’t get it!
