Intensive Workshop A Success

It was definitely intense, and “a good time was had by all.” It’s been a week since my Nashville Intensive Workshop, and I still can’t get over how great it was!
Although she’s attended my seminars and had me work one-on-one with her before, World Artist Mary-Kathryn felt this workshop was “a huge value because you’re able to work one-on-one with Tom AND with his Live Music Producers – you’re getting a lot of input into your show!”

We booked a small group for the Workshop, which was good for artists to learn and get new insights for their music; and it was good for me to be able to get to know them and spend time with each one of them.
Leanne Regalla, one of the artists that attended the workshop remarked that the intimate group setting was perfect because “being able to observe the other performers really helped drive the concepts home, and” as Leanne added, “we made good friends!”
The Workshop really did give everyone who attended a lot of help musically, visually, vocally, and fundamentally. And each artist left with a new sense of purpose and excitement for their music.

While one artist was onstage learning new concepts for their own music, the other artists watched and learned as well. Seeing me and my Live Music Producers in action as we reworked and rearranged songs gave everyone who attended a lot of inspiration and creative ideas for their own shows, as well as showing them some practical ways to use the fundamentals I teach.
There were times when my Live Music Producers really stepped into the picture – Lang Bliss reworking and editing tracks to help create moments the artists could take home with them; Amy Wolter giving great help with fundamentals for an artist onstage; ideas for connecting with the audience coming from both of them.
As they would work with one of the artists, that enabled me to have some of my favorite moments during the day – sitting between the other artists on the SIR rehearsal room couch, pointing out ideas being worked onstage that THEY could use, too!
Teen artist Ryan Vegh remarked that the Workshop made him think about who he was as an artist. “I learned how to re-arrange my songs to make them more interesting, and what direction I should go in musically, as far as style goes.”
“I got a better handle on when and where to move onstage and when to use different angles. I thought it was great!”

I was really glad to get to know all the artists. I can hardly wait until my next Intensive Workshop!

I had a great time working with these artists! The things we worked on made a big difference not only giving them the tools to develop a good show, but in the confidence level of each performer. Being informed, having the tools to work with, and having a plan for your show, equals a confident artist who can now ‘own’ their stage.
It was a wonderful event! I’m honored to be on the blog.
I learned a great lot of stuff! And one of these days, if God permits me to get somewhat of a fan-base, I’ll certainly be thanking you guys! And God, of course. Heh.
The workshop was great, as is everyone in Tom’s organization. We all got solid approaches that we can immediately apply to our shows, and yes, a lot more confidence and excitement. It’s a month later and I am still pumped!
I am already planning my return trip with more songs.
